True Love (which, I know, is a Cole Porter not a George Gershwin song)

In the 1945 George Gershwin bio-pic, Rhapsody in Blue, starring Robert Alda, the two women in his life (Joan Leslie and Alexis Smith, but, of course, not his mom, Rosemary deCamp) leave George because they love him so much that they don't want to distract his genius with their affection.

So, having just watched the film, I tell my lovely wife that if she had really loved me, she never would've married me.

To which she replied -- without hesitation, "Well, you're not a genius."
